HotHouse hires ‘Give a few Bob’ writer Alan Curson as head of copy
Digital agency HotHouse has hired British copywriter Alan Curson as head of copy.
Curson is famed for the ‘Give a few Bob’ TV ad for Prostate Research in which the late British comedian Bob Monkhouse was resurrected.
Xander Black, HotHouse’s creative director, commented: “He has the sort of credentials an above the line agency would look for in appointing a creative director. There aren’t many copywriters with his experience and recognition, willing or able to work across all media disciplines.”
Curson will oversee copy on brands such as Toyota, Amaysim, and Hollard.
He has worked at agencies including TBWA, Saatchi & Saatchi, Grey, Ogilvy & Mather, Euro RSCG London and CDP. He joins from The Communications Agency.
Curson has won awards at Cannes, British Television Awards, Campaign Big Awards, Creative Circle, and D&AD.
I saw someone was “head of copy”. Does that mean he’s in charge of plagiarism ? Why don’t you people speak english ? I’d feel betterer.

Let’s not be silly Clive, He’s clearly incharge of photocopy machine operation. Its a thankless role, but a crucial one in every agency. He seems a bit over qualified admittedly.
