Hotwire expands senior team following ‘robust’ start to financial year

Enero-owned Hotwire has named former Samsung communications executive Nick Healy as its first client services director as the agency looks to continue its “robust” start to the 2022 financial year.

Healy spent more than eight years as Samsung, the last three as corporate affairs and communications lead. He left the electronics giant in May.

In the newly-created role, Healy will join the senior leadership team to work with its tech-driven clients.

Hotwire lists Amazon, Gumtree, Klarna, LinkedIn, Twitch and Zoom among its clientele.

The appointment builds on the recent expansion of its local workforce and the adoption of a new business model with Hotwire now working with marketers on brand reputation as well as overseeing brand marketing and stakeholder relationships.

Parent company Enero, which also owns digital agency Orchard and creative agency BMF, last month reported an encouraging start to the 2022 financial year with revenue climbing almost 23% to $45.6 million and EBITDA rising 50% to $14.7 million. Enero also reported a $22.8 million profit after tax attributable to equity holders for the 2021 financial year. This included $1.2 million in JobKeeper payments from the government, which it is not set to repay, despite the profits.

The results were bolstered by “robust” performances by Hotwire, BMF, and Texas-based programmatic marketing platform OBMedia.

Healy said Hotwire has built a reputation of “consulting with the most innovative technology brands in Australia and in key global markets”.

“With the technology sector evolving to become one of the biggest contributors to Australia’s economy, it’s an incredibly exciting time to join the team and open opportunities for clients through integrated communications services and experiences,” he said.

Hotwire Australia managing director, Jaime Nelson, said Healy will provide strength beyond traditional PR and communications and into “connected storytelling, marketing and branding”.

“By bolstering not only our senior leadership team, but our client services team, we’re building on our strong foundations to deliver a more integrated service that aligns to the needs of the brands we partner with,” she said.

In a further expansion of its Australian team, Hotwire also announced the hire of Olivia Jarman and Allan Hunt as program managers, joining from the PR Hub and Weber Shandwick respectively.

Nelson added: “We’re stepping into the new year from a position of strength, with our new talent supporting an end-to-end capability, to supercharge the client work we deliver.”
