HSPR launches training program aimed to help mums return to work

A training program aimed at helping women re-enter the workforce after a few years leave is being piloted by the education arm of Hausmann Communications.

HSPR is currently recruiting for a ‘test’ cohort of mothers looking to return to work to help refine and hone content for the program.

Speaking with Mumbrella, Judi Hausmann, CEO of HSPR, said a refresher course for mothers returning to the workforce had always been identified as an educational need by HSPR.

Hausmann wants to help mothers feel more confident to re-enter the workforce

“A lot of the mums lose their confidence because the industry is moving so quickly; a year out of the work-force is like 10 years out, a few years ago. If they’re at home and out of the loop, no matter how much they try to keep up it’s difficult,” she said.

“What we’re seeing with some of the people coming back is a lack of confidence and they’re a bit scared. Which is normal for women coming back to the workforce as it is a big adjustment.”

The refresher course will cover topics ranging from changes in the craft to such things as pay expectations and what a returning mother can expect to earn as well as topics covering how to manage the transition back to the workforce.”

“We’re talking a lot more about how to produce content and how to plan for the various different social channels,” Hausmann explained.

“There will be information on how to juggle – it’s being taught by people who’ve done this before – the ways you manage the transition back to work and strategies for how to manage the work-life balance.”

Applications are open now for an August 2 start.
