Iconic Australian cheese brand discontinued after 120 years
Tasmania’s King Island Dairy will stop operations from mid-2025, bringing to a close its 120-year legacy.
King Island Diary’s parent company Saputo made the decision following a ten-month “intensive review” during which they were unable to find a buyer for the brand.
Saputo CEO Leanne Cutts said “every possible option” had been considered before making the decision.
Spot on Alternate.
It takes 100+ years to create such a loved and admired brand and it takes takes 5 years for someone or their accountants to bugger up an Aussie icon.
Looks like profits weren’t goudanough.
