IDG Communications boss Davy Adams exits after 20 years

Davy Adams, managing director of IDG Communications, has left the business after 20 years.

Adams first joined IDG Communications in 1998, and has since led staff across brands including Computer World, Reseller News, CMO Magazine and CSO Magazine.

Adams had been with the business for 20 years

Before joining the company, Adams was a channel sales manager for PCS Australia and also worked as a sales executive for Micro Sales.

Adams said he is talking to a couple of media organisations about management roles, but isn’t in a hurry.

“During my tenure we grew revenue by being agile and shifting away from traditional advertising into events and marketing services. The product mix in media continually changes which is what makes it so exciting,” Adams said.

“Next steps for me? I’m talking to a couple of media organisations about management roles, but also happy to just take a break after 20 years.”

It is currently unclear who will replace him.

York von Heimburg, president of International IDG Communications, added: “IDG had a great time with David over the last 20 years. He contributed a lot to the success of IDG Australia in his several roles.

“We are proceeding with a strong internal management team who is continuing to develop IDG Australia in new dimensions.”
