Imagination expands to Port Melbourne

Brand communications agency Imagination will open an office in Port Melbourne.

The announcement:

Global brand communications agency Imagination has announced an expansion of its Australian business by establishing a presence in Port Melbourne, and a push to recruit five new staffers for the Victorian business. The firm’s Sydney office has seen its staff complement grow from 12 to 30 in under two years at its recently expanded offices in Pyrmont.

The expansion to Melbourne follows several successful competitive pitches for two major new pieces of work. The company has just won major projects for Ford and Commonwealth Bank. With imminent start dates on the new account wins, Imagination wants to bolster its account handling and digital production capabilities in Melbourne by April/May, with five staff who can hit the decks running.

Commenting on Imagination’s expansion, Australian Director Alistair Wilson said:

“Clients are responding positively to our unique fresh thinking and the quality of our ideas. There’s a big need for boutique agencies who demonstrate solutions that holistically solve client problems, rather than just selling a response that’s built around the agency’s specialisation.”

Wilson joins Heath Campanaro, Imagination Australia’s General Manager, to help build on the growth the business has achieved in the last 12-months. Current clients include Commonwealth Bank, Ford, Jaguar, Land Rover, Sanitarium, Panasonic, Diageo and American Express,

Former regional senior executive Wilson moved from Hong Kong to Australia to spearhead the operation’s necessary expansion – the move has resulted in immediate dividends in terms of successful pitches and wins. Londoner Wilson, who joined Imagination thirteen years ago, was integral in the establishment of Imagination’s Hong Kong and Shanghai offices, and has been a key figure in the firm’s longstanding association with Ford, Mazda, Jaguar & Land Rover.
