Initiative Melbourne promotes David Lee to head of digital

Initiative Melbourne has appointed David Lee as head of digital communications, after three years with the company.

Lee joined Initiative Melbourne as group digital director in 2014, and has been responsible for defining and build digital strategies social, search, programmatic and display.

In his role, he developed cross-channel campaigns for clients across social, display, programmatic, mobile and content marketing.

He has also worked in an interim role as managing director of IPG Mediabrands’ social marketing agency Society in Melbourne.

Prior to IPG Mediabrands, Lee co-founded Australian influencer network Nuffnang in 2008, and worked on the business for more than five years.

Shaun Briggs, Initiative Melbourne’s managing director said Lee’s performance and “impact” on clients’ digital portfolios led to the promotion.

“Our clients’ digital investments have grown rapidly in the past three years and David has been pivotal in the strategy and execution of those budgets,” Briggs said.

Melissa Fein, CEO of Initiative Australia, said Lee has been a strong leader in the development of digital communications.

“David is a stand-out talent and his rise to our lead digital role in Melbourne also means he will have considerable impact on our national capabilities,” Fein said.

Lee will commence his new role immediately.
