The announcement:

Interbrand Sydney is excited to announce the appointment of Douglas Nash as Strategic Director, Rebecca Lester as Strategist, and the promotions of Ben Miles to Design Director and Joao Peres to Senior Designer.

Interbrand Managing Director, Richard Curtis, said this year has been one of significant growth and we are excited to add new and diverse talent to our business whilst recognising and promoting the strengths of our current team.

“It’s great to welcome Doug Nash to Interbrand Sydney. He brings an impressive background in product & service design and innovation, and there’s no doubt he will play a key role in evolving our strategic product further ahead of the competition,” Mr Curtis said.

To date, Douglas has focused on user-centred insight and experiential design, and he has a passion for creating meaningful products and experiences that drive growth and engagement for leading international brands including Electrolux, McDonald’s, Audi, Westpac, Vogue and Freedom Furniture.

Mr Nash said, “I’ve been involved with product innovation my entire career, since graduating from industrial design, through to working in experience and service design and branding.”

“I’m really excited to be joining Interbrand as I’m passionate about understanding the way brands are experienced in our lives – and ultimately how we can use this understanding to create amazing brands that are truly meaningful and stand apart.”

Interbrand’s strategic offer has been bolstered further by the addition of Rebecca Lester.

Since graduating from Cambridge University, Interbrand’s newest Strategist, Rebecca Lester joined London’s award winning ‘Sparkler’ agency in 2011 before moving to Sydney in January 2012, where she has extensive brand and research experience working on leading clients such as Kraft Foods, Cadbury, KFC and David Jones.

In additional people news, Interbrand Sydney are also pleased to announce the promotion of Ben Miles to Design Director.

Mr Curtis said that Ben has made a significant impact on both Interbrand and Australia’s branding landscape with his work on the Telstra’s rebrand and AGDA (Australian Graphic Design Association), the industry body tasked with promoting and supporting Australian design and designers.

Mr Miles commented, “I truly believe that story telling and branding are inextricably linked. I’ve spent considerable time focusing on this approach and I’m looking forward to continuing to build valuable, award winning brands in my new role at Interbrand.”

Interbrand Sydney is also pleased to announce the promotion of Joao Peres to Senior Designer. Joao returned to Interbrand in 2011 and is considered one of the best young designers in the industry, having displayed exceptional skills in both motion and graphic design. Joao’s career highlights include his involvement in rebranding Telstra and the launch of the Alzheimer’s Australia campaign.

Mr Curtis concluded that Interbrand is looking forward to the year ahead, as well as capitalising on recent successes as highlighted through awards recognition at Spikes Asia (Silver for QAGOMA, Bronze for New Theatre) and Qantm Create Design Awards (Highly Commended for Telstra and New Theatre).
