Iris Worldwide co-founder relocates to Asia to head regional growth

Iris Worldwide co-founder and global CEO, Ian Millner, is relocating to Asia as part of plans to increase the agency network’s focus on the growth markets of South East Asia, Australia, India and China.

The independently-owned marketing communications agency currently has 17 offices across 10 countries, including a presence in Sydney and Melbourne, Australia.

Millner, who will move from Iris’ London office, will remain involved in client business globally, working on accounts including Sony Ericsson, Adidas, Barclaycard, Shell and Hertz.

He said: “We think that we can reproduce the sort of growth we’ve enjoyed in our most mature offices throughout Asia. This will be the making of iris as a real threat to the advertising-led global networks.”

The move follows the recent creation of regional management teams for China, Asia, Europe and the Americas.

Paul Bainsfair will continue to lead European operations as regional CEO, David King will lead the new China region, Stewart Shanley – the joint global CEO and co-founder – will focus on the Americas, and Josh Thomson, former CEO of Iris Concise, will focus on Asia Pacific.

Iris was launched in 1999 and covers advertising, digital, sponsorship, experiential, PR, DM, CRM and strategic consultancy services.
