iSeekplant launches comedy video ‘The Diver’ to promote its Uber-like app

Plant hire equipment, suppliers and services database company, iSeekplant, has promoted its app by launching a comedy video featuring Darryl a crane driver who struggles to find work.

The two minute video follows Darryl on his journey to find work while he tries out uber driving and food delivering in his crane ‘franna’ to earn some extra money.

Sally McPherson, CEO at iSeekplant, said in a statement: “These hard workers need to manage their business while also operating their machine, which can be really difficult. With ‘The Driver’ we wanted to tell the story of one of these little guys in the construction industry.

“One of the great things about our audience is they are absolute larrikans, they love seeing a really creative piece targeted at their audience. Because they don’t get that recognition very often.

“We wanted to use our industry knowledge to create a video jam packed with inside jokes that only people in construction will understand. If you haven’t operated machinery we’ll wager you don’t know what ‘full rabbit’ means.”

McPherson said iSeekplant’s app is coined the “uberising plant hire” and it was the basis for its latest marketing campaign.

The campaign is directed by Australian director Tony Prescot.
