‘It’s great that Channel Copycat is just taking something we’ve done for 18 years’: Eddie McGuire slams Nine presenters moving to Seven
Eddie McGuire has slammed the hosts of longstanding Channel Nine show, Footy Classified, for defecting to Seven, calling the rival network “Channel Copycat” in a live spray on the Today show on Thursday morning.
McGuire’s comments were targeted at three of the Footy Classified hosts – Kane Cornes, Caroline Wilson and Craig Hutchison – who will be defecting to Seven next year.
While it is already known that Cornes is moving over, Wilson and Hutchison’s departure from Nine is yet to be publicly confirmed. Although neither network is keen to confirm the move, it seems McGuire has done so on live television.
Not disappointed about Caroline Wilson leaving, she is rude and talks over the top of people. Good riddance I say.
Can’t stand Hutchinson, he is stupid in some respects.
Eddie is a lame duck. He’s a bit like Daryl Somers was with Hey Hey.
He can’t let go of the past. Football entertainment has changed, move on Eddie.

At least Eddie has been loyal to channel 9 even when he was at Fox footy for several he has remained a loyal servant to channel 9 he is right channel 7 are copycats. all the shows they have taken from other channels have failed miserably any show they recreate never work they die a slow death and as for hutchy and caro they are no loss constant dribble flows out of their mouths anyway so they’ll fit in at ch 7 or as Sam Newman always used to call it channel suits them as they are continuing their tradition of delivering crap shows and pressenters
I won’t be watching 7’s footy show with Craig Hutchison in it. He’s aflog and knows nothing about football. Surely Eddie can get better commentators than those 3. And while your at it get rid of that idiot clury
But Eddie look on the bright side. Seven took up your suggestion of having a host for its finals matches by appointing Bruce to do the job. No surprise Bruce has been excellent in that role.
It’s pretty tough if you get sprayed for changing jobs or workplaces. Guess they reckon it’s better than Channel Nothing. Typical bully boy comments. If it happened in reverse he’d be rejoicing. Suppose he’ll take his moonlighting gig on Channel Hopeless when Melbourne Cup comes around.
Thank God they didn’t take Eddie too. The ” all knowing ” one. Always,right ,Always predictable, Look at me!!! Look at me!!!

Not smart commentary from Eddie. Eddie should understand ‘it’s just business’ as much as anyone. To malign the 3 with a good riddance type comment when he would have done anything to keep them, is the transparent tantrums of a child. Would have gained more respect to say he was disappointed, that they have been great contributors, that he wished them well but that Nine would come back with something bigger and better.

The Front Bar is the best, why does 7 want this mob? they’ve been making the Front bar look good!!! Cornes and Carro only exist through believing their opinions are the only ones relevant. They appear to enjoy looking at the most negative aspect of every situation. But I guess they are both, laughing all the way to the bank! As any publicity is good publicity.
