James Deehan joins The One Centre as head of media & partnerships

The One Centre finishes 2022 strong, appointing James Deehan as head of media & partnerships.

The announcement:

The One Centre, a branding and innovation agency, has appointed James Deehan as head of media & partnerships as the agency gears up for another strong year.

Deehan is a performance marketing specialist with more than 12 years of experience in media working in the UK and Australia. He joins The One Centre from WiredCo. Sydney, where he was head of digital media & partnerships. Before this, Deehan was national digital performance director at ADMATIC and performance director at CHE Proximity.

Deehan is tasked with growing The One Centre’s media capabilities and offering through digital and traditional channels and driving media innovation for clients.

The One Centre launched its in-house media business in 2017, and it has become the third pillar in the agency’s brand offering, alongside brand strategy and brand creative. The One Centre’s brand media offering can work independently or within an integrated approach to drive brand awareness, engagement and growth for clients.

Deehan will develop The One Centre’s total media connections planning philosophy, methodology and tools.

He will work collaboratively with The One Centre’s brand & communications strategy and creative teams to develop integrated media strategies and campaigns.

Deehan will report directly to Katie Molloy, managing director of The One Centre. He will also join The One Centre’s leadership team alongside Molloy, founder, chairman & CEO John Ford and creative director and head of digital Chris Gillespie.

Molloy said: “James has a proven track record in working with iconic global and local brands to drive growth through digital and performance-driven media. He is experienced in building and developing teams of media specialists and scaling for growth, which makes him a perfect fit for The One Centre as we navigate our continuing growth.

“James is incredibly passionate about data, strategy, creativity, customer experience, building strong partnerships and importantly, people. In an industry full of automation and artificial intelligence, there is always a need for human intuition, interaction and ideas to drive the best results,” said Molloy.

John Ford, founder & CEO of The One Centre, said: “The One Centre is gearing up for a big 2023, we have exciting pipeline of brand development projects for a range of business disruptors and leaders. There is a real focus on developing and growing our media offering, and James’ appointment signifies our commitment to this important part of our business. The One Centre is now uniquely positioned to create and grow disruptive, progressive, high-growth brands locally and globally.”

Deehan is the latest senior leader to join The One Centre, following last month’s appointments of Chris Gillespie as creative director & head of digital and Bettina Winkler as design director.

The appointments reflect the agency’s growth as it enters its 23rd year. Working with a diverse portfolio of clients such as Immutable, Aquila, Ingenia, Lounge Lovers, Cosette, All G Foods, AQUNA, Aircalin, Ofload, Sotheby’s, Ferrari and The Menopause Co, The One Centre offers clients total branding capabilities across brand strategy, creative and media with an emphasis on “modern branding”.
