James Mathison and Luke Toki to host Ten’s Survivor chat show Talking Tribal

Ten is welcoming back former Australian Survivor favourite Luke Toki and Australian Idol host James Mathison to host a talk program centred around the new season of Australian Survivor: All Stars.

Talking Tribal will air directly to Broadcast Video on Demand (BVOD) platform 10 Play and podcast platform 10 Speaks.

The show will premiere Friday January 31 and serve as a ‘digital companion’ to the popular reality format.

Mathison and Toki will breakdown the strategy, the alliances and the drama that played out during All Stars, fleshing out theories behind the game play each week, and who will ultimately be crowned Sole Survivor.

Special guests will come along for the ride, including international podcaster Shannon Guss and popular ex-Survivor castaways.

Mathison hosted Australian Idol for six years on Ten, alongside Australian Bachelor franchise host Osher Günsberg, leaving in 2009. He was also the host of the ill-fated Ten morning program Wake Up, with Natarsha Belling and Natasha Exelby. The show was cancelled after less than a year on air.

Toki competed in Survivor: Champions vs Contenders in 2019 as a Champion, returning after taking part in Australian Survivor in 2017. He was named the ‘People’s Champion’ and a Gofundme set up after the show ended succeeded in raising $500,000 for him and his family.

Australian Survivor: All Stars will premiere February 3 on Ten.
