JC Decaux partners with Black Dog Institute as next charity partner

Out-of-home company JC Decaux has announced Black Dog Institute as its next charity partner.

The announcement:

Leading Out-of-Home media company JC Decaux has reinforced its commitment to the community by today announcing Black Dog Institute as its latest major charity partner, as the charity’s One Foot Forward campaign goes live across JC Decaux assets.

There are three pillars to JC Decaux’s charity support program, JC Decaux HEART – health and mental health, environmental sustainability, and enriching urban communities. Black Dog Institute has been selected as JC Decaux’s mental health charity partner. It is the only medical research institute in Australia to investigate mental health across the lifespan, with the aim to create a mentally healthier world for everyone.

Tess Phillips, Executive General Manager – Government Relations and Corporate Affairs at JC Decaux, said: “As we all continue to deal with the effects of the pandemic, mental health is a key priority for the JC Decaux business and our staff. This partnership gives us a way to support the important work of Black Dog Institute with dedicated media space to promote its major fundraising campaign, One Foot Forward, raising money for vital mental health research, digital tools and community programs.”

This announcement follows a soft launch earlier in the year which saw Black Dog Institute promote its HeadGear app across the JC Decaux Street Furniture network. The campaign was incredibly successful, with download rates up 214% in March and 188% in April YOY while the activity was live in market.

“We are delighted to be partnering with JC Decaux’s through their JC Decaux HEART program,” said Black Dog Institute Senior Manager – Partnerships, Tasman Cassim.

“Without the generosity of organisations such as JC Decaux, we wouldn’t be able to deliver the valuable evidence-based research that helps us better understand and treat mental ill-health.

“This support helps us to reach more people across the community who are keen to be involved in our One Foot Forward program. Together this will help us raise much needed funds for our research work to develop and deliver evidence-based resources that aid in reducing the prevalence and impact of mental ill-health.”

One Foot Forward encourages individuals and businesses to walk in support of the one in five people who experience symptoms of mental ill-health every year. The event takes place over the month of October during Mental Health Month.
