JC Decaux promotes Bronwyn Clementson to general manager – commercial

JC Decaux has made an appointment within its commercial leadership team, promoting Bronwyn Clementson to the role of general manager – commercial. The role is currently held by Paul Osborne, who is leaving the company on 31 July.

Clementson brings over 12 years of experience in the out-of-home, and joined JC Decaux in 2015. She has served as the group general manager for NSW and Airports since 2019.

Clementson, who was previously digital commercial director at APN Outdoor, and also spent time at Optus and Salmat, will now lead the commercial team.

Her promotion sees state commercial directors, Damian Potter and Stuart Moffat, take on expanded commercial airport responsibilities and also join Clementson on the senior leadership team.

JC Decaux CEO, Steve O’Connor, said: “Bronwyn is coming into the role with extensive commercial and out-of-home experience, as well as strong relationships with many of our commercial partners; I know she will continue to be invaluable to our commercial team.”

He also thanked Osborne for his time at the company. “I also want to pay tribute to our outgoing commercial general manager, Paul Osborne, who finishes in the role on 31 July.

“During his time with the business, Paul led the team in winning several key contracts, as well as securing significant rent savings during the COVID-19 pandemic. We wish him all the best for the future.”

Of her appointment, which is effective 1 August, Clementson said: “I am extremely excited to step into the commercial general manager role at JC Decaux. I will be overseeing an established Commercial team that has excellent talent, tenure and experience.

“I look forward to continuing this momentum, expanding the team and fostering their – and my – passion for delivering the best solutions in the market.”

JC Decaux has made a swathe of internal changes so far in 2021, including the promotion of Oliver Newton to chief sales officer in April.

The leading OOH provider will relinquish its City of Sydney street furniture contract in September, after the beginning of the contract’s transition to QMS was recently delayed again.

It is not known what Osborn intends to do post his departure.
