Senior journalist/Editor

The Intermedia Group has an opportunity for an experienced Senior Journalist & Editor to join the leading business-to-business platform for the Australian printing industry under a 12-month, full-time contract (maternity cover).

You will be required to shape direction, content and editorial for the company’s printing and packaging magazines, websites and digital newsletters, which are highly respected by the industry’s key decision makers.

Working alongside an experienced publishing team, you will play a key role in developing the editorial strategy to further strengthen the title’s leading position within the marketplace.

To be successful in this role, you will already have solid online and print editorial experience and understand how to create engaging content for your readers. It’s a fast-paced environment so you’ll need an eye for detail and a nose for a great story. You will be highly organised and able to manage multiple projects.

As you will be dealing with a variety of stakeholders across several industries, you will need excellent interpersonal skills and will be confident in working both autonomously and as part of a team. Knowledge of the printing and packaging sectors would be an advantage.

Your duties and responsibilities will include:

– Collate, write and edit news stories and features for online and print

– Co-ordinate the production of a market-leading bi-monthly trade publication and twice-weekly email newsletter

– Work with the sales team on commercial opportunities including content creation and developing business relationships and initiatives

– Assist with the curation of conference content and organisation of the industry’s major awards event

– Represent the publication at events, trade fairs, and exhibitions, including occasional work outside standard office hours. Some interstate and international travel may be required

– Manage social media accounts for the relevant titles
