Jodie Koning departs Cartology
Cartology’s general manager of marketing, insights and integration, Jodie Koning, has left the company after over five years in the role.
Koning said leaving a place that had shaped her in so many ways was not easy, “but the time has come to say goodbye”.
“As a member of the original leadership team, I had the immense privilege of helping to build and scale the business, truly pioneering the retail media landscape across Australia and New Zealand,” she said on Linkedin.

“In the last five years I have learnt more about leading through rapid growth and change, flourishing in ambiguity and stakeholder engagement than I could have imagined. I’m incredibly proud of what we achieved together and grateful for the countless memories and invaluable experiences.”
Cartology’s managing director Mike Tyquin paid tribute to Koning.
“Jodie has been an instrumental member of the Cartology leadership team, building and defining the Cartology brand and playing a leading role in our growth over the last six years. Jodie’s achievements are many and significant and the leadership team and I extend our deepest thanks for her contribution to our business and wish her all the best in her next chapter,” he said in a statement to Mumbrella.
Koning said she would now take “a breather”, and offered her expertise to any brand or agency friends who need help in marketing or retail media.
“Watch this space for the next exciting chapter,” she added.
Koning joined Cartology in 2020, when the company was seeking to disrupt the retail media landscape.
“Cartology continues to build an exciting portfolio of media assets that connect brands with Woolworths customers in a meaningful way,” Koning said at the time of her appointment.
“I am excited about further building our media proposition and driving brand outcomes that are truly measurable.”
In departing, she paid tribute to a number of colleagues, including managing director Tyquin, and her marketing and insights team.
“We built a great brand, fuelled the sales team with exceptional go-to-market programs and hosted some of the most epic events,” she said of her team.
Previously, Koning had been head of marketing at outdoor operator Adshel. She became group marketing director of Ooh Media when it acquired Adshel.
