Jon Vertigan leaves breakfast hosting to become ACE Radio group content director

The Morning Rush host Jon Vertigan has announced he will be stepping down from his breakfast show responsibilities to focus on his new role as group content director with ACE Radio Network.

Vertigan will move into the new role in 2020.

Vertigan replaces Mat Cummins who has held the group content director title for four years and will be moving his focus to his other role as general manager of ACE Radio Gippsland at TRFM and Gold 1242.

Vertigan has been in the Australian commercial radio industry for 27 years, 22 of which he has spent with ACE Radio Network.

In that time, he’s won 15 ACRAs and worked with Australian Radio Network (ARN) on air in Melbourne and as national music director in Sydney.

The Morning Rush will continue on eight ACE Radio stations, with a replacement host announced in the coming weeks.

In a statement, the ACE Network thanked both Vertigan and Cummins for all their work, and wished them the best with their new roles.
