Jules Lund and Fifi Box to helm Today Network’s national drivetime show

Fifi Box Jules Lund Today NetworkJules Lund – whose media career was launched when he won Fox FM’s Fifteen Days Of Fame contest in 2001 – is returning to Austereo as co-presenter of the Today Network’s drivetime show with Fifi Box.

The announcement was made on this afternoon’s Hamish & Andy show.

Next year will see Hamish Blake and Andy’s Lee’s number one rating show reduced to one day a week. Fifi & Jules will run from 4-6pm Monday to Thursday, with Hamish & Andy in the same timeslot on Fridays.

Lund has been a regular on Box’s Saturday morning show on the Today Network.

The changes will see Box depart her entertainment reporter roll for Seven’s Sunrise, although she will continue with other work for the TV network. Lund will continue to work for the Nine Network on travel show Getaway.

The drivetime show will continue to be based in Melbourne under national executive producer Sam Cavanagh.

Lund’s close relationship with Austereo also includes him having introduced Hamish & Andy, and also Ryan Shelton, to the network.

Austereo CEO Guy Dobson told Mumbrella: “It’s a very exciting day for us. We love launching new shows.”

Today Network content director, Dave Cameron said the network believes it can maintain the number one ratings currently enjoyed by Hamish & Andy. He said: “There’s no reason it can’t be a number one show.”

The show will be anchored by Byron Cooke, who performed the same duties for a time on The Shebang, which Box previously co-hosted on sister network Triple M.
