Junkee Media appoints Buzzfeed’s Nick Arnold as video news director
Junkee Media has appointed ex-Buzzfeed video producer Nick Arnold to the newly-created role of video news director.
Arnold was one of the many journalists who lost their jobs as part of Buzzfeed’s major round of redundancies in February.
Like so many other talented people, today will also be my last with BuzzFeed Australia. This company brought me to a side of the world I never thought I’d live in, and the people I found here are some of the absolute best. ✌?

Arnold has a background in both journalism and TV, having worked on shows including Love Island, Bear Grylls Survival School, Geordie Shore and Big Brother in the UK.
He was also a journalist and features writer at BBC Three, before making the move to Sydney for the Buzzfeed role.
“Nick has the rare combination of news experience from BBC Three and social experience from BuzzFeed that both combine in the space where Junkee lives,” said Tim Duggan, Junkee Media’s publisher. “We’re focusing heavily on video in 2019, and Nick will be leading that charge and building a great team around him.”
“I’m absolutely thrilled to be joining the Junkee Media team,” said Arnold. “What they have achieved to date is admirable, and the opportunity to be part of a team that wants to champion both video and journalism in the future fills me with not just excitement, but also optimism.”
Congratulations Nick – Junkee are lucky to have you!
