Kantar appoints Jon Foged to lead Australia and New Zealand

Kantar has announced that Jon Foged has been appointed to the newly created role of managing director, Australia and New Zealand, insights division.

Foged is being promoted from his role the Australian CEO of the business. Foged became Kantar’s Australian CEO in February 2018. He has been with the company for 17 years, working as the chief strategic and business development officer for APAC region, as well as having the CEO role in Vietnam, Myanmar and Cambodia. Foged has held managing director roles in Singapore and Malaysia.

Wayne Levings, APAC president for Kantar’s insights division said of the appointment: “Jon and his leadership teams have a clear history of building strong performing businesses across APAC. He has a core mantra focused on our people, our culture and our clients and we are looking forward to his leadership to continue the growth of our businesses in Australia and New Zealand.”

Shoebridge has been the CEO of Kantar New Zealand since February 2016. He will be taking time off to spend time with his family before his next career move.

On his departure, Shoebridge said: “I leave Kantar in good heart. I believe the people at Kantar are among some of the best in the business and are incredibly adept at providing our valued clients with quality insights to drive growth and success.”

Levings added: “Jason has ensured that Kantar New Zealand has been a leader in the strength of its relationships, profitability, and together with his team, has won several industry accolades and is steadfastly admired by clients and colleagues alike.”

Foged said on Shoebridge: “I would like to personally thank Jason for his leadership and the role model behaviours he has demonstrated over his many years at Kantar. He has always been a strong and vocal supporter of the New Zealand business and as an outcome, Kantar has the market leadership position and reputation.”

In the latter half of 2019, WPP AUNZ sold Kantar to Bain Capital.

Earlier this month, Kantar’s head of advertising Sam Walters joined Cubery as general manger, consulting.
