Karen Dwyer joins DDB Melbourne as chief strategy officer

DDB Melbourne has appointed Karen Dwyer to the newly created role of chief strategy officer.

Dwyer will work across DDB, Track and Mango and joins the agency from her previous role as the founder and chief strategy officer of Yellow Brick Labs in New York.

Dwyer joins as DDB Melbourne’s CSO

The chief strategy officer has also held positions at BBDO, R/GA, The Campaign Palace and Publicis Mojo.

“I feel really lucky to be given this opportunity. Kate and Stu are an incredible leadership team, and we’ve got some fantastic clients and opportunities, not to mention a bunch of really smart, lovely people with industry leading capabilities. I’m looking forward to everything we’ve got in the pipeline,” Dwyer said in a statement.

Dwyer’s appointment comes almost one year after DDB Melbourne restructured its leadership team as MD Dave Brown was replaced by Kate Sterling.

In June last year, Stuart Turner joined DDB Melbourne as its executive creative director from his previous ECD role at Havas.

“Karen is a brilliant fit for us. Her background in some of the world’s leading brand and digital agencies is quite unique,” Sterling added.

Andrew Little, group CEO of DDB Australia, said he is looking forward to seeing DDB’s Melbourne full potential.

“This is an important time for DDB Group Melbourne. With its new leadership team now in place, and a fresh, integrated structure across the Group, I’m looking forward to seeing the full potential of the Group in Melbourne.”
