Kate & Co appoints Virgin Australia alum Kieran Debney
Public relations agency Kate & Co has hired Kieran Debney as a senior account manager.
Debney’s appointment follows her return to Australia from the UK where she was a PR specialist for Virgin Atlantic. Previously, she spent four-and-a-half years in public affairs for Virgin Australia.
Debney joins Kate & Co after five years with Virgin businesses
At Virgin Australia, Debney led the PR campaign for the airline’s first flight to Japan and worked on the media strategy for the first meditation flight with founder Richard Branson. Whilst with Virgin Atlantic, Debney worked on the crisis response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In her new role with Kate & Co, Debney will be leveraging her experience in stakeholder relations, reputation management, crisis and internal communications.
Kate Keane, founder and managing director, said Debney’s experience will expand the agency’s reputation management capability.

Recently, Kate & Co has made a number of internal promotions including Daniella Sorace to senior account director. Sorace will be leading the Lexus account, which Kate & Co won in March. Additionally, Marisa Jayne and Rachel Collister have been promoted to account managers.
Keane became the sole director of the agency in February, following the departure of co-director Kate Bensimon last year for family reasons.
Kate & Co’s client list includes Coles, Brunetti, Australian Turf Club, Funlab and Ten Minutes By Tractor.
