Kayo’s chief marketing officer Carly Loder departs
Foxtel’s recently launched sports streaming service, Kayo, has lost its top marketer, with chief sales and marketing officer Carly Loder departing, Mumbrella can reveal.
The news comes at a tumultuous time for Foxtel’s marketing function, with numerous departures throughout 2019.
Yesterday, it was revealed Foxtel’s director of content marketing Jo McAlister was leaving after just over a year with the business.
A Foxtel spokesperson told Mumbrella of McAlister’s departure: “We are in a strong position under Arianna Saita’s leadership in marketing, and we have a great and committed team who keep delivering for our customers and the business.”
And of Loder’s departure from Kayo, Mumbrella was told by a Kayo spokesperson: “After supporting the successful set-up and launch of Kayo Sports, it’s a natural time for Carly to leave us and look at the next stage of her career.
“We are now a much larger business, and we are in the process of identifying the right marketing capability to lead the next phase of growth at Kayo Sports.”
Loder moved into the Kayo CMO role in February last year, from her role as director of marketing and communications at Fox Sports. Prior to that, she had been chief marketing officer of Westpac’s BT Financial Group.
Foxtel has also seen the departure of group head of lifestyle digital and marketing, Brigitte Slattery; head of sports marketing, Adam Ballesty; and general manager of advertising sales and brand partnerships, Andrew Mulready.
In March, V8 Supercars’ chief sales and marketing officer John Casey also came on board as group director of marketing at Foxtel, however he departed in June.

Kayo’s been flogged like a dead horse,
I’d say it was launched with great fanfare, then users baulked at the price, to combat it they then offered to every and any 2nd & 3rd partner/provider for peanut rates.
Assuming this led to Loder’s demise after poor uptake?
