Keep Left hires senior art director Helen Neville as it repositions to a creative agency

Marketing communications agency Keep Left has appointed Helen Neville as senior art director.

Caroline Catterall, Keep Left CEO, said Neville would assist the agency in transitioning from a content agency to a creative with a focus on advertising.

Helen Neville will be leading Keep Left’s creative department

“We’ve operated as a content agency for the past three years, and have increasingly seen our content used in advertising, particularly in digital placements, so it’s been a gradual but natural evolution that we’re ready to embrace,” Catterall said.

“Helen brings the ideas, creative thinking and processes to help us navigate that bridge from content to creative. Her advertising-led, proposition-based approach will be a great complement to the data-driven storytelling approach Keep Left is known for.

“Our clients are looking for assistance from insights, audience, and strategy through to creative and execution, so it’s great to be able to work with them every step of the way.”

Neville will be providing creative leadership for Keep Left’s team of strategists and creatives, and will work across the agency’s Melbourne and Sydney-based clients.

Neville has joined after just over a year at Clemenger BBDO Melbourne, working on the Myer account as an art director. She has previously been an art director at LIDA and GTB in London.

Neville said of her appointment: “The opportunity to join the team at this pivotal time was too good to refuse. I can bring all the inspiration of ad-land to the table, and I’m excited to see where we can take it combining the different skills in the agency.”

Keep Left has also restructured to execute the business’ repositioning, bringing its operations under four departments.

Managing director Gillian Gosling and strategy director Susan Horn will be leading insights and strategy. Neville will be joined by lead video creative Ant Dinham to lead the creative department. Digital and experience will be led by Johanna Murray. Tim Lele is the head of public relations.

Keep Left’s clients include Kathmandu, ME Bank, University of Melbourne, FIJI Water, NEFF, Charter Hall, Experian, Moula, and Guide Dogs.
