Klarna taps Zip Co for new ANZ marketing director

Global retail bank, payments and shopping service, Klarna, today announced the appointment of Katrina Ang as its marketing director to help spearhead the company’s marketing and brand across Australia and New Zealand.

With over 15 years of experience, Ang will be responsible for creating brand activations for Australian and New Zealand consumers and partners. Ang joins Klarna from Zip Co, where she was also marketing director, and has previously worked for Scentre Group and Westfield as well.

Klarna’s chief expansion officer, Camilla Giesecke said: “Australia is a key market for Klarna and we are seeing significant traction, nearing a million users who are turning to Klarna to provide flexible and interest-free payment options and a seamless and convenient shopping experience.

Globally, Klarna is present in 17 markets across Europe and the US. Klarna has over 90 million users and has partnered with more than 250.000 merchants, including retail giants Macy’s, Sephora, The North Face, H&M, Ikea and Nike.

Recently, Klarna was confirmed as the foundation client for new Sydney-based media agency, Agnes Media.
