Kojo acquires Wolfcast, expands into New Zealand market

Creative studio, Kojo has announced its expansion into New Zealand, with the acquisition of boutique sports presentation company, Wolfcast.

Based in Wellington, Wolfcast provides Kojo with an entry point into the New Zealand market, with Wolfcast delivering sporting events including All Blacks and Maori All Blacks international matches, the HSBC Hamilton Sevens and Super Rugby fixtures.

Kojo CEO, Stephen Lord said: “We’ve been looking to enter the New Zealand market for a
while now and we’re thrilled to have found the right opportunity with Wolfcast. It provides an
established and impressive presence in the competitive sport entertainment market while
also providing KOJO with a great launch pad to introduce our complete creative service
offering.”

Wolfcast founder, Tara Hakiwai

Founder of Wolfcast, Tara Hakiwai will be joining Kojo Sport effective immediately, as a senior producer.

On her new role and the acquisition Hakiwai said: “I’ve loved my time building Wolfcast and have a huge sense of pride in what I’ve created but I’m equally excited for the future and the additional value Kojo can offer our clients and partners”.

Hakiwai’s previous work prior to establishing Wolfcast in 2019 included working in the sports industry at the National Basketball League, Wellington Football Union and Hurricanes Rugby, as well as holding the role of director for boutique marketing and brand company Launch, for ten months.

Lord continued on Hakiwai’s appointment: “Tara brings extensive experience and knowledge in the sports presentation and match enhancement industry, alongside a strong commercial, sport sponsorship and activations background and we’re excited to welcome her to the team.”

Kojo currently has four Australian offices, recently expanding its creative offering with the promotion of Jess Hill to head of Kojo Creative last month, closely followed by the appointments of Bim Ricketson as group creative director, and Emma Gill has joining as creative director.
