Adelaide football radio station Fiveaa has appointed Kym Dillon.

The announcement:

Kym Dillon joins Adelaide’s Home of Sport

Adelaide’s number 1 football station FIVEaa will continue to deliver South Australia’s most credible, passionate and comprehensive coverage of footy with today’s announcement that Kym Dillon is joining the side in 2011.

Kym joins a first-class team that includes one of the greatest players of all time, dual Premiership star and Adelaide Crows’ games record holder Andrew “Bunji” McLeod; 200 game Power Premiership player Josh Carr; and Crows’ favourite and dual premiership ruckman Shaun Rehn.

Stephen Rowe, Chris McDermott, David Wildy, Tim Ginever, Ian Shuttleworth and Tom Rehn complete the footy side while Graham Cornes and Stephen Rowe will continue to share the inside word on all things sport on Adelaide’s number 1 weekday drive show between 4pm and 7pm.

“FIVEaa is Adelaide’s number one radio station and in 2011 we have assembled what is by far the most credible and experienced footy team in South Australia,” FIVEaa Sport Director Cam Thompson says,

“People like Dillon, McLeod, Rehn and McDermott are well respected and connected so if you’re a footy lover and want to know what’s going on, you’ll find out all you need to know at Adelaide’s Home of Sport, FIVEaa.

“Kym knows the players, coaches and managers so he knows what’s happening behind the scenes. As well as calling games, he and the rest of our sport specialists will bring their unique insights into the game we all know and love.

Kym has been calling games for Nine, Seven and the ABC since the late 1980s and was co-host and commentator of Nine’s local AFL matches on Sunday afternoons. The Channel 9 weekday sport presenter is pumped about working with Adelaide’s leading footy team and can’t wait to hit the ground running.

“I am very excited to be on board with FIVEaa – Adelaide’s genuine sport station that covers all Crows and Port games – and I’m really looking forward to rolling up the sleeves this season and getting in to it,” Kym says.

“I know all the guys at FIVEaa too, so it’s like a homecoming for me, having played footy with Wildy, played against McDermott and being involved with them all in one way or another.”

Graham Cornes says he has always enjoyed Kym’s media style and looks forward to working with him this season.

“FIVEaa has been able to bring football to listeners in the best possible way, and we will take it to another level again this year,” Cornes says.
