LA Dodgers PR director Joe Jareck to feature in CommsCon keynote
The public relations director of one of the world’s biggest sporting franchises is to be the keynote opener at next month’s CommsCon conference.
The event, organised by Mumbrella’s parent company Focal Attractions, is designed for PR and communications professionals.
CommsCon will open with a keynote interview with Joe Jareck, director of public relations for The Los Angeles Dodgers.
The 130-year-old Major League Baseball club has won six World Series titles.
Jareck, in his ninth season with the club, is responsible for leading the team’s communications efforts, including baseball and business media relations, social media and internal communication. He also oversees the team’s Hispanic public relations strategies.
A 17-year veteran of the sports business, Jareck worked in television, radio, print and internet sports journalism before coming to PR. He has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from George Washington University.
During his time with ABC Sports in New York City, Jareck worked on the network’s College Football Studio show. Prior to working at ABC, Jareck wrote and edited copy for Sportsticker in New Jersey.
Jareck will be interviewed on stage by Mumbrella’s Tim Burrowes and take questions from the audience.
CommsCon takes place in Sydney on Thursay March 20. A draft of the program – and details of how to buy tickets – are available via this link.
