Landor Sydney announces new creative team

Sydney, November 28, 2017: As part of a concerted push to drive design thinking and impactful brand creative throughout the organisation, Landor Sydney have brought talented creatives Tom
Carey and Matty Johnson into the fold as Creative Directors. They will work under the helm of Executive Creative Director Giles Day.

Day, founder of North+South, an ideas-led innovation agency which was acquired by Landor in 2015, has helped put innovation at the heart of Australia’s largest branding and design agency. With a desire to implement design thinking throughout the organisation, he has bolstered his team with Carey and Johnson to lead the Brand and Consumer teams respectively.

Carey is an award-winning designer with a range of experience in the world’s leading brand agencies. He has worked with iconic brands including Telstra, BBC, Universal Music and was a key part of the team that won 3 Cannes Lion for the rebrand of the Sydney Opera House.

Working in noted agencies across UK, Singapore and Australia, Johnson has developed disruptive and effective designs for clients such as Diageo, Unilever and Beam Suntory – resulting in over 30 industry awards including a First Place from The Dieline, Gold from Graphis and a Pinnacle from AGDA.

Landor Sydney now has a team in place with diverse creative backgrounds spanning Innovation, Brand and Consumer – but united around a fierce ambition to create idea driven design that is beautiful and intelligent.

“I’m delighted to have tricked first Tom, then Matty into joining the team. We have the ambitious creative leadership we need to get the most out of our young and talented team and create brilliant work for our clients,” said Day.

“We’ve seen a significant shift in what our clients need from a branding agency,” said Managing Director, Dominic Walsh. “These appointments signify a substantial change for Landor Australia by placing innovation and award-winning creativity at the heart of the business.”

Landor is part of WPP AUNZ, Australasia’s leading marketing content and communications group.
