Lexus moves its lifestyle PR from EVH to Kate & Co PR

Lexus has shifted its lifestyle public relations account from EVH to Kate & Co PR, following a competitive pitch.

EVH has worked with Lexus for the past eight years, taking on the account whilst working on the automotive brand’s Melbourne Cup sponsorship and event in 2012. The agency’s remit included Lexus’ influencer and ambassador strategy and management, content creation program, media management and partnerships.

EVH also led and managed Lexus’ position as principal sponsor of the Melbourne Cup, which began in 2018.

Tracey Schouten, Lexus Australia marketing operations manager, said: “EVH was awarded the Lexus account in 2012 and over that time has strengthened the Lexus Australia luxury lifestyle positioning across initiatives such as the influencer and ambassador strategy, lifestyle content creation program, and Melbourne Cup Carnival sponsorship. We extend our utmost gratitude to the team at EVH for a prosperous eight-year partnership.”

Emma van Haandel, EVH founder and managing director, said she was ‘beyond proud’ of the agency’s partnership with the brand.

“I am beyond proud of the successful positioning work we have done with Lexus over the last eight years. EVH has grown from a boutique PR agency when we first started working together, to a full-service creative communications agency that specialises in understanding and supporting the needs of modern brands. The strength and success of Lexus in the Australian market is a perfect example of what EVH and our talented team can do,” van Haandel said.

Kate Keane, managing director of Kate & Co PR, commented to Mumbrella: “Kate & Co PR is proud to announce the agency’s appointment as Lexus lifestyle PR partner, commencing in April 2020.

“Kate & Co PR is delighted to be working with the Lexus brand and looks forward to establishing a successful partnership that will continue to build on the brand’s luxury positioning in the Australian market, respectfully acknowledging the extensive groundwork set in place by outgoing agency EVH.

“Kate & Co’s scope of work will encompass the Lexus ambassador and influencer strategy, media relations, content creation, brand collaborations and leveraging sponsorships – including the brand’s principal sponsorship of the Melbourne Cup Carnival.”

Most recently, Kate & Co PR was appointed as public relations agency of record for Melbourne Fashion Week 2020. Kate & Co PR’s client list includes Coles, Brunetti, Australian Turf Club, Funlab and Ten Minutes By Tractor.

EVH’s client list includes Alex Perry, Camilla & Marc, Aesop, Vida Glow, Ferrari, Versace and Technogym.

In February, EVH hired Daniel Higgins as strategy director.
