Liberals and Nationals for Yes target political conservatives in ‘I’m voting yes’ same-sex marriage campaign

A coalition of Liberal and National Party members has launched a campaign for marriage equality which speaks to conservative voters about why they’ll be saying ‘yes’.

Created by independent agency PENSO the digital and social campaign features different Australians being interviewed on what marriage means to them and why marriage equality should be legalised.

In conjunction with the video, a new website www.libsnatsyes.com.au is now live which includes a petition for Australians to sign, commentary from government officials, testimonials and interviews and ways in which the community can donate and get involved.

In the press release posted online it says: “Liberals and Nationals rightly support marriage as a fundamental good where two people make commitments of mutual responsibility to each other for themselves and society. We should want same-sex couples to make the same commitments of responsibility.

“Opening the commitment of marriage to all Australians will strengthen families and communities. More responsibility and commitment will only secure our society.

“Successful institutions evolve over time. Marriage is no exception to this rule. The Marriage Act has been amended 20 times since 1961.”
