Life’s a Pitch – call for entries

The Northern Rivers Screenworks has put out a call for entries in their Life’s a Pitch competition.

Launched as part of a Screen Distribution Seminar in Mullumbimby on Friday 24 June, it is open to all creators with an idea for film, television or digital media.

The program offers the winner to develop their concept to a screen industry standard, refine the art of pitching and present their idea to Key Screen Industry decision makers.

Sponsored by SAE, Screenworks offers a development program along side the pitch competition. Screenworks General Manager Jill Moonie says, “Each year we receive lots of great ideas for productions but getting them to an acceptable screen industry standard can be the biggest challenge for applicants. We want all our finalists to attract the attention of the judges so that any one of them has the ability to get funding or go into production. It is not only the winner that benefits from Life’s A Pitch.”

The Screenworks winner will going into a pitching competition during the SPAA National Conference in Sydney in November. Northern Rivers-based SPAA Conference Director Deb McBride launched Life’s a Pitch on 24 June. She offered tips and advice to make it to the SPAA conference.

Applications for Life’s A Pitch can be found at Screenworks. All entrants must be residents of the Northern Rivers. The Deadline for entries is 14 July. Entry fee $50.
