Louise Pogmore joins KPMG to launch Social Media Advisory group

Former managing partner at PR agency One Green Bean, Louise Pogmore, has joined management consultancy KPMG to launch its new Social Media Advisory group.

KPMG’s Social Media Advisory group will be co-led by Pogmore and Greg Daniel, the former CEO of The Campaign Palace.

Daniel has been with KPMG since the firm acquired his social media intelligence agency SR7 in 2014.

Daniel and Pogmore are the co-leaders of KPMG’s Social Media Advisory group

KPMG Australia’s new Social Media Advisory group will enable businesses to take advantage of social media while mitigating the risks, allowing companies to analyse and influence customer conversations, the company said.

Pogmore departed One Green Bean to pursue a new opportunity in December last year after three years.

Pogmore has spent time at The Hallway, Naked Communications and Edelman.

“I’m really excited about working with KPMG’s diverse skill-sets to develop holistic solutions that drive greater share of experience for clients. And really demonstrate the effectiveness of earned media in delivering against business goals,” Pogmore said in a statement.

“As social media enters its second decade as the world’s dominant medium we are brilliantly positioned to offer best practice advice on all aspects of social media strategy. This means a combination of harnessing social media’s unbounded opportunities and mitigating its well documented risks,” Daniel added.

Paul Howes, partner in charge of KPMG’s customer, brand and marketing advisory business, said trust is a top priority for Australian business leaders and social is now a “boardroom-level” priority.

“It’s not just about being present – it’s about how to maximise its effectiveness as a strategic business tool. As a result of client demand, we are building a new team to bring cutting edge social strategy to the boardroom,” Howes said.
