Lukas Temple joins BCM Group in new MD role
Former Youi marketer Lukas Temple has joined BCM Group’s BCM Media and Creative, in the newly created role of managing director.
He will be responsible for client growth and agency operations, including media buying and planning, creative campaign development, digital strategy, and branding.
He joins the agency after a stint as Cogency’s head of strategy and creative. There, he managed creative teams across three locations, integrating multidisciplinary marketing services. Prior to that, he held other agency roles at Ikon Communciations, UM Australia, Starcom and more. He also spent four years with Youi in marketing and brand roles, including chief brand officer.
He said the “concentration of talent and experience” at BCM Group drew him in to the role.

Lukas Temple and Phil McDonald
“It’s a team I wouldn’t define simply by its services, but by its impressive track record of effectiveness. The constant fragmentation of marketing solutions and value is a real challenge for brands and marketers. BCM Group is clearly solving that challenge with its clients, and I’m delighted to be part of delivering such a valuable solution,” Temple said in a release on Tuesday.
Joining the BCM Group leadership team, he will work closely with the other division bosses, including Veracity’s Erin Cole and Ivy PR’s Emma Bedsor and Mia Hamilton.
As part of the team changes, current group managing director Phil McDonald will move into a group CEO role, continuing to oversee all the agencies.
McDonald said that while many agencies are cutting senior roles, BCM Group is “doing the opposite”, investing in “market leading talent”.
“Lukas brings senior strategy, data and media smarts to the BCM Group at both a client and media agency management level. As a past CMO, he knows the challenges that marketers are facing and how to help overcome them,” he said in the release.
“The BCM media offering is about multiplying the impact of clients’ budgets and ensuring effectiveness is embedded into everything we do – Lukas will supercharge that as part of our existing agency team.”
His appointment comes following a solid 12 month period for the group, with client wins including Messi Fragrances, Apollo Motorhomes, Queensland Police Service, and the Queensland Fire Department.
The agency also recently took home multiple wins at the 2025 Mumbrella Awards — the Mumbrella Award for Data-Driven Marketing, Mumbrella Award for Insight and Pro Bono Campaign of the Year.
Temple’s appointment is effective immediately.
