Macquarie Media names Your Money’s Brooke Corte as the new host of Money News

Less than a week after the exit of longtime host Ross Greenwood, Macquarie Media has announced business journalist Brooke Corte as the new host of Money News.

Corte joins most recently from Sky Business, where she worked as an anchor for many years. She was the face of the channel’s rebrand into Your Money which subsequently closed. Corte has also hosted First Edition on Sky News.

Corte has 20 years experience as a journalist

Money News has been a staple of Macquarie’s programming slate for the past decade, running five nights a week across 3AW, 2GB and 4BC.

The radio business was recently the subject of a takeover by Nine, which has seen a number of programming changes roll out. Greg Byrnes, the company’s new head of content and a former Sky News staffer, said Money News is an important part of the Macquarie slate.

“Money News is an integral part of our program schedule wrapping the day in business and giving listeners what they need to know on the way home,” said Byrnes.

“I’m very happy that a journalist of Brooke’s calibre will take over the reins as the show moves into 2020.”

Corte said there has never been a more important time for financial news.

“We’re at a crucial juncture as a country in terms of finance and business, so I am thrilled to be given this opportunity to host a dedicated money program in 2020,” said Corte.

“After the events of this year, it’s clear there has never been a more important time to understand the value of our money and the stories that impact on our household finances.

“It is a real privilege to join Macquarie Radio, with the outstanding broadcasters on air right around the country, and I look forward to joining them.”

In 2020, Money News will air on 3AW, 2GB and 4BC between 7.00pm and 8.00pm Monday to Friday.
