MAFS leaps to another season high with 1.2m metro viewers on Sunday night

Nine’s reality juggernaut Married At First Sight shows no signs of slowing down with the program leaping to another season high on Sunday night, drawing in 1.200m metro viewers and 1.598m nationally, making it the most-watched program in both the metro and national markets.

The show also easily topped all three of the key advertising demographics – 16-39s, 18-49s and 25-54s – followed in all three by 60 Minutes and Nine News.

Married At First Sight is going from strength to strength for Nine

Married At First Sight premiered to 1.154m, it’s biggest ever launch figure, three weeks ago.

Nine News was the second most-watched program with metro audiences, drawing 937,000 viewers above Seven News’ 848,000. Nationally the pair switched – Seven News brought in 1.319m viewers, bolstered by a big regional audience, while Nine News delivered 1.241m.

Nine’s 60 Minutes also performed well for the night, bringing in 769,000 metro viewers. ABC News delivered 700,000 and a 1990s special of Spicks and Specks brought in 614,000.

Seven’s Koala Rescue, which replaced My Kitchen Rules on Sunday night in the 7.30pm timeslot, delivered 525,000 metro viewers. Last Sunday 1.006m metro viewers tuned in to the Fire Fight Australia concert on Seven, while the week prior saw My Kitchen Rules bring in 476,000.

Ten’s Dancing With The Stars delivered 482,000 metro viewers for the episode and 498,000 for the final elimination moments according to confirmed times provided by Ten. Last week the show delivered 348,000 metro viewers and 327,000 for the elimination, after premiering two weeks ago to 593,000 metro viewers.

Ten also aired day three of the Adelaide 500 Supercars Championship with 273,000 metro viewers tuning in for race two and 270,000 for the podium coverage.

Nine took an easy win for the night overall, holding a 26.9% audience share as a channel, above Seven’s 15.2%, ABC’s 12.2% and Ten’s 11.3%. SBS held 6.5%.

As a network, Nine secured 34.5%, sitting above Seven’s 22.5%, Ten’s 17.3%, ABC’s 16.2% and SBS’ 9.5%. The most-watched multi-channel was 10 Bold with 3.5% audience share.
