Mango Sydney gone, team folded into Eleven

DDB Group’s Mango Communications Sydney has been dissolved and absorbed by Omnicom stablemate Eleven.

Mango Sydney managing director Tabitha Fairbairn has departed as a result, with the remainder of the team being integrated into Eleven from September 1. Mumbrella understands Mango Auckland is continuing unchanged.

TBWA confirmed the move after being approached by Mumbrella, thanking Fairbairn for her leadership and contribution.

Prior to working at Mango, Fairbairn spent close to a decade at Haystac Australia, where she moved from an account director role to become national general manager for the PR company.

“As part of Omnicom Oceania’s review of our earned communications capabilities, Mango Sydney has made the seamless transition into Eleven, effective 1 September,” TBWA said in a statement.

“The move ensures continuity for clients, with the same team and services now operating as a part of Eleven and sister agency Fleishman Hillard, both a part of the TBWA collective.”

Mango Communications is a specialist PR and comms consultancy within DDB Group. It delivers integrated solutions with expertise across earned media, brand strategy, social and influencer engagement, and issues management.

It launched in 2000 in Auckland and Sydney for DDB clients needing PR help, providing dedicated communications services while retaining business inside the network.

Eleven was founded in New Zealand in 2006 as a consumer PR/experiential agency led by Kelly Bennett. It entered Australia in 2011, and built its presence, earning numerous awards including Mumbrella’s PR Agency of the Year in 2016.

It recently reprised that win at Mumbrella’s CommsCon Awards 2025 — taking the Agency of the Year (Large) — as well as winning the Corporate Social Responsibility award.

Meanwhile FleishmanHillard — with whom Eleven is closely partnered on corporate/tech briefs — is a global PR and comms agency, with more than 80 offices worldwide. It delivers expertise across corporate communications, brand marketing, public affairs, crisis and issues management, and digital and social engagement.

In ANZ, it is part of the TBWA Collective, allowing for a similar integrated approach to creative and communications.
