Marcel Sydney’s ECD Scott Huebscher exits with Wesley Hawes to take role

Marcel Sydney’s executive creative director Scott Huebscher has departed the agency.

Huebscher joined the agency two years ago from his previous stint as a creative director at Leo Burnett.

To replace Huebscher, Marcel Sydney has promoted its deputy executive creative director Wes Hawes to the role of executive creative director.

Hawes’ promotion comes one month after the Publicis Groupe agency was added to the Foxtel roster after TBWA resigned the account for Amazon.

Hawes has been promoted following two new business wins for the agency

Since then, Marcel Sydney has also won the creative account for mining company Rio Tinto.

Hawes joined Marcel in January last year from his previous role as joint executive creative director at TBWA.

“At Marcel we produce provocative, powerful work for brands like Tiger Beer and Tinder, but often this work appears in international markets outside Australia. The recent Foxtel win is a great opportunity for Marcel to make a visible and effective local impact. I’m super excited to be leading Marcel into this next stage of its development,” Hawes said in a statement.

David Nobay, creative chairman of Marcel Sydney, added: “Wes exudes a natural, creative generosity that makes those around him drawn to collaborate on everything he touches. It’s a rare gift, and we’re lucky to call him our ECD.”
