Marcomms & PR agency Aruga adds new clients and staff

Aruga agency has announced it is celebrating nine new client wins and has also added three new hires to kick-off 2021.

Meanwhile, co-founders Donna Kramer and Adam Brunes lauded the way the marcomms and PR agency weathered 2020 and has continued its post-COVID recovery and growth this year.

Aruga welcomes to its client portfolio Tourism Whitsundays, Economic Development Queensland (EDQ) Northshore (Brisbane), Tourism Bundaberg and Brisbane Festival 2021.

Other account wins include Tattersall’s Club, Brisbane Cycling Festival, UQIMB Soils for Science, Burger Urge and the Institute of Modern Art (IMA).

On top of those wins, Aruga has been awarded new campaigns and expanded briefs for existing clients The Star Entertainment Group. Chef Collective, Love Australian Prawns and FRANKiE4.

Kramer said: “While COVID was an extraordinarily difficult period, it afforded us time and opportunity to prepare and plan so we were ready to respond when our clients, industry and economy rebounded.”

Aruga’s expansion has seen it revealed three new hires since who have each joined the team since January.

Sarah Wilson joins as account director, bringing 10 years of journalism and marcomms experience, and having led campaigns for top-tier hospitality, entertainment and tourism clients as well as essential not-for-profits.

Aruga has hired a new account manager, entertainment industry expert Sia Cambaclis, who also has experience in digital comms, PR and content creation.

Finally, Isaac Purcell joins the agency, bringing over 20 years of design experience to the role of senior designer.

Kramer added: “We’re proud to have bucked the ongoing trend towards downsizing by hiring experienced specialists and emerging superstars across PR, marketing, content and design.

“These incredible additions to our team positioned Aruga back at the top of our game – and beyond – to respond with genuine creativity and strategic nous when new briefs landed.”

The latest hires come after Aruga added five new staff in October of 2020.
