Mashable hires first sales director in Australia

Digital media website Mashable has bolstered its sales team in Asia Pacific in a push to “better serve” its advertisers.

The announcement:

Mashable has expanded its sales team in Asia Pacific with new hires in Singapore and Australia.

Menglye Liu joins Mashable as an Advertising Director in Singapore. Menglye joins after spending a year and a half as a regional sales manager for Twitter in South East Asia. He brings a decade worth of experience working in sales for Yahoo!, ESPN and MediaCrop.

Menglye will join our growing Singaporean that includes Gwen Regina Tan (Director of Strategy and Business Development APAC), Vicki Ho (Asia Editor) and Alicia Tan (Deputy Editor).

Philip Mackertich meanwhile joins Mashable’s Australia office as an Advertising Director. Philip also previously worked for Twitter as a senior sales executive in Sydney. He previously has vast sales experience in Australia working for great companies such as Kenshoo and Yahoo!

Philip will head up Mashable’s ad sales in Australia, and will join Jen Ryall (Australia Editor) who leads the editorial side in its Sydney office.
