Masterchef ties with Nine News to be the most-watched show as Ten beats Nine in share

MasterchefOn a quiet night in TV Ten’s reality cooking show Masterchef was the most-watched non-news show of the evening, grabbing 1.01m metro viewers in the 7.30pm timeslot.

Ten claimed second place in terms of audience share with a share of 16.1 per cent, behind Seven’s winning share of 20.8 per cent. Nine settled for third place with a share of 15.9 per cent while the ABC posted a share of 12.4 per cent despite a special Q&A on LBTIQ rights which was well down on the usual Monday audiences.

When secondary channels are accounted for, Nine claimed second place with a total share of 25.5 per cent, ahead of Ten’s total share of 21.6 per cent.

Masterchef was the most-watched show across the key advertising demographics (16-39, 18-49 and 25-54).
