MasterChef to launch as a magazine
FremantleMedia Enterprises has teamed up with News Magazines to launch a food and lifestyle title under the MasterChef brand in a bid to capitalise on the success of the television show.
MasterChef Magazine will launch as a monthly glossy publication in May next year and will feature Australian food writers and editors.
Trudi Jenkins, editor-in-chief of Delicious and Vogue Entertaining + Travel, will lead the editorial team.
Ben Liebmann, FremantleMedia Enterprises (FME) senior vice president – licensing, said the magazine is the ultimate brand extension for the program.
“MasterChef Magazine is consistent with our ambition to take MasterChef from one of the country’s most loved television shows to one of the leading food and lifestyle brands in Australia,” he said.
FME, the commercial and brand extension arm of FremantleMedia, recently announced a partnership with Groupe SEB to launch the Tefal MasterChef cookware range, and Random House is due release The Cookbook – Volume 1 in December. There is also currently a MasterChef Masterclass DVD on sale.
MasterChef Australia is a FremantleMedia Australia production for Network Ten. Series two of the programme will premiere in May, 2010.

Yep, and if I was in their shoes I’d be making sure that we milked it until it’s all gone as well. 🙂

Looking forward to this magazine, though i hope that unlike so many other cookbooks and magazines, this one will incorporate many recipes that include everyday ingredients at average supermarkets.
A great idea though, the MasterChef dominion are really taking advantage of the brand that they have created, and i congratulate them on their incredible business sense. Milk it for all it’s worth. I wish that i had though of it!!
