Masterchef’s 1.014m metro audience helps Ten to a Wednesday night win

Ten’s Masterchef – Back To Win drew 1.014m metro viewers on Wednesday night and 1.318m nationally.

The success of the cooking format helped Ten to a ratings win for the night, holding an audience share of 17.9% for the primary channel and a network share of 25.1%.

Ten also dominated the key advertising demographics with Masterchef the most-watched program in all three – 16-39s, 18-49s and 25-54s.

In the 7:30pm timeslot against Masterchef, ABC’s 7.30 drew 682,000 metro viewers, followed by Hard Quiz with 711,000. Nine’s Doctor Doctor brought in 507,000, and Seven’s Britain’s Got Talent 434,000.

The Weekly with Charlie Pickering returned for its sixth season at 8:30pm, drawing 611,000 metro viewers and 874,000 nationally. In the same slot, Nine’s Paramedics drew 475,000, and 680,000 and the second episode of The Secrets She Keeps on Ten brought in 422,000 metro viewers and 574,000 nationally.

Seven aired Harry and Meghan: A Royal Rebellion at 8:30pm for 246,000 metro viewers and 381,000 nationally.

Overall, Nine held a 17.7% audience share for its primary channel and 24.6% as a network. Seven secured 16.7% and 23.9%, and ABC 13.6% and 17.7%. The most-watched multi-channel was 10 Bold with 4.7%.
