M&C Saatchi Group posts healthy profits in H1 2021 financial results, although Asia & Aus report a loss

M&C Saatchi Group has posted its H1 2021 financial results, with healthy profits “ahead of management’s expectations”.

The group has reported a net revenue of £118.1 million (A$223.2 million), up 14.2% with profit before tax at £10.5 million (A$19.9 million), a rise of 420% compared to £2.0 million (A$3.78 million) in H1 2020.

In Asia and Australia, the group posted net revenue of £30.9 million (A$58.4 million) making it the second largest market in the group. This is a rise of 17.1% on 2020 figures.

However, operating profit in this region was £0.5 million (A$0.95 million) a drop of 49.3% on 2020, while thr region made a loss after tax of £1.6 million (A$3 million).

“Our confidence in the future is reflected in the post-period-end decision to settle current put options in cash with the expectation that this continues, thereby eliminating dilution for shareholders.”

The group posted its largest share of revenue in its home market the UK, with a net revenue of £50.8 million (A$96.0 million), up 38.1%, with a operating profit of £11.9 million (A$22.4 million), making up the lions share of the group’s operating profit of £12.4 million (A$23.4 million). UK profit before tax was reported as £12 million, a rise of 17%.

Central costs reported in the results are listed at £6 million (A$11.3 million).
