M&C Saatchi tops AFR’s most innovative company list

M&C Saatchi Group has topped the 2017 Australian Financial Review’s 50 Most Innovative Companies list.

The agency won the overall innovation and product innovation categories for its design practice Tricky Jigsaw and the NRMA Fire Blanket.

Jaimes Legget, CEO of M&C Saatchi, said: “To be ranked alongside those disrupting markets, building products and changing the world is humbling.

“It’s a great accolade for all in the industry and an important marker of the value we bring to clients.

“Creativity as a means of driving business transformation is profound, and Australia needs it more now than ever,” Legget said.

Leo Burnett Sydney finished fourth on the list, moving up ten spots from last year’s 14th place.

Pete Bosilkovski, CEO Leo Burnett Sydney, said: “Our unwavering focus on ‘consumer first innovation’ has transformed our business and the services we offer our client partners.

“At a time when brands face fierce competition and disruption, we believe innovation plays a critical role in not only keeping brands competitive and relevant, but in helping to future proof their growth, and change the rules of the game.”

CHE Proximity was another agency which landed a spot in the top ten, coming in seventh place.

The agency also won the title of top marketing innovation.

Other agencies to make the cut were music and video provider Nightlife Music at number 26 and digital branding agency Buzz at number 36.

Isentia just made the top 50 at number 48.
