McCann swoops for WPP regional talent scout Jean-Michel Wu

Jean Michel WuIn a major move in agency talent acquisition space, ad agency McCann has secured the services of WPP regional talent director Jean-Michel Wu.

Wu takes on the role of chief talent officer at McCann, and will relocate from Shanghai to Singapore in October.

He brings to an end a decade with the WPP group, beginning at Ogilvy.

McCann’s regional boss Charles Cadell said that finding and nurturing talent in Asia is “critical”, and he described Wu as the “best there is”.

The hire is “another boost to the ongoing McCann success story in the region,” Cadell said.

Wu commented: “My 10 years within the WPP Group has been an incredible learning journey. I now look forward to pursuing a career within McCann Worldgroup where I can be closer operationally while broadening my scope of work, adding valuable impact on the overall business of our clients and network.

“I’m especially happy to be joining McCann during a period of explosive growth. With their recent wins, McCann has a great future and I’m excited to be part of its continuing success.”
