McCann Sydney have announced that they have hired Lazrus Simons and Duncan Shields to their creative department as creative group heads.

Simons and Shields join McCann’s ranks from DDB Sydney, where they worked on clients including Telstra, McDonald’s, Volkswagen, Westpac and Wrigley’s.

They follow the addition of incoming Sydney MD Adam Lee from Whybin\TBWA, revealed by Mumbrella last week.

Shields joined the agency last month while Simons has been there since January.

Simons is an award-winning creative with over 10 years’ experience in across the Asia-Pacific region. Shields’s creative career spans 11 years and two continents. Since he’s been in Australia, Shields took on the role of ANZ creative director CD with WPP agency, Enfatico, before joining the DDB in 2010.

McCann Sydney Executive Creative Director Dejan Rasic said, “Lazrus and Duncan are great guys and bring a huge dose of talent to our department. They’ve worked across a wealth of brands and are true idea people – regardless of the medium.”

In February, Mumbrella revealed the departure of Tribal DDB’s MD Phil Dowgierd and ECD Darwin Tomlinson.

Yesterday, DDB Sydney lost its share of work on Campbell Arnott’s brands when that creative account was consolidated with Clemenger BBDO Sydney.

McCann Australia clients include Coca-Cola, L’Oreal, MasterCard, Google, Pacific Brands, Uncle Tobys, Lion Dairy & Drinks and the Federal Government.
