MEC retains Singapore Tourism board

Media agency has retained the Singapore Tourism board account.

The announcement:

GroupM media agency MEC is continuing its recent success with the retention of the Singapore Tourism Board media account in a hotly contested pitch that included more than 10 agencies from the region.

The review was part of an official government tender held every four years. MEC has held the account for the past four years, most recently delivering strong results for the Singapore Tourism Board through the “Get lost and find the real Singapore” campaign.

The campaign saw Singapore Tourism Board partner with the Seven Network to produce an entire episode of Better Homes & Gardens in Singapore, supported by print and digital content in Seven Media Group assets. The TV show, which aired in February, attracted more than 1.075 million viewers, with 5,259 people entering the competition. The campaign led to a jump in the number of Australians requesting information on visiting Singapore.

“This is another great win for MEC and we look forward to delivering more fantastic results for Singapore Tourism through our growing integrated offer and digital capabilities,” said MEC Chief Executive Officer Peter Vogel.

The retention of Singapore Tourism Board follows the recent retentions of Mitsubishi and the South Australian Government by the media agency, and new business wins such as Tiger Airways and the Seven Network.
