Meltwater AI appoints Alissa Sargeant as head of talent acquisition APAC

Meltwater has named Alissa Sargeant as its new head of talent acquisition for its APAC operation.

Sargeant will be responsible for leading a talent acquisition team to analyse key recruitment metrics to identify areas of improvement and provide data-driven recommendations to improve outcomes.

Sargeant’s HR experience spans two decades spent in senior regional roles at technology firms across Asia Pacific and Japan. Most recently, Sargeant was talent acquisition leader and HR business partner for global IT firm NCR Corporation.

“I’m delighted to be joining Meltwater at such an exciting time for the company and the wider media industry. Their investment in technology has created a need for highly skilled people at a time when the global talent market is increasingly competitive. I look forward to sourcing the very best candidates from Australia and throughout the region, and continuing to expand and grow Meltwater’s strong employer brand,” said Sargeant.

Commenting on the appointment, executive director APAC at Meltwater, David Hickey, said: “Culture is critical at Meltwater, not only for recruiting the most talented people, but also to ensure that existing staff feel valued. Our commitment to our employees and customers is summed up by the acronym MER, which stands for ‘fun’, ‘number one’ and ‘respect’ in Norwegian. Alissa is a true specialist in talent acquisition who shares our philosophy and understands our DNA as a company.”

“Alissa’s strong focus on people makes her ideal for a role which includes recruiting high potential candidates, as well as ensuring our hiring process stays updated with the best practices in the market. At a very dynamic time of growth for Meltwater, we look forward to her creative approach in sourcing talent for the many new roles we have opening up,” Hickey added.

Last month Meltwater unveiled its industry-first paid, earned & owned dashboard, following its acquisition of DeepReason.ai.
